Bagdad Investigation report
Date: June 24th, 2007
Start time: 6am
End time: 10am

The investigating team arrived at the location at approx. 5:15am, and we allowed entry a short time later by manager Rebecca. The investigation commenced at roughly 6am, after equipment set-up and briefing.

The set up was as follows; one audio recorder (mine) in the upstairs men's bathroom, the 0 lux camera in the hallway outside the men's room, [investigator]'s camcorder on the left side of the balcony, [investigator]'s audio recorder on the main stage, and my Hi8 camcorder in the backstage area (now the Back Stage Pub).

After completion of the set up, I went off with investigator Tim to take measurements and still photos of the building. We began in the upstairs men's room. Some activity had been reported there, mostly consisting of disembodied voices and a feeling of heavy dread, all reported by various employees. No anamolous readings were gathered there, however. So we proceeded to the back stage area, as this was the scene of a suicide by an employee (who's exact position is subject of conflicting accounts) in the 1940s. The individual in question purportedly hung himself from a catwalk, which has since been removed. However, he has been sighted by various people over the years. This area yielded high EMF readings, averaging in the 20-30 milligauss range. This could certainly explain the feelings of dread, or of being watched, that have been reported there. After this, we went into the main theatre, where no anamolous readings were recorded. No other parts of the building generated anything out of the ordinary until we got up to the balcony.

Here, we recorded very high roving EMF signatures in excess of 10 milligauss (the limit of the particular meter I was working with), covering most of the area in the far back rows, between the wall and the projection booth. Unfortunately, none of it could be traced back to any particular source. While I'm a loss to explain the lack of a point of origin, it was far too widespread to be paranormal in origin and is most likey caused, or at least exacerbated, by unshielded wiring. This also explains any feelings of dread or general intimidation in the upper left side of the balcony. The upper right hand corner, however, only produced readings in the 2-5 range, which is not high enough to generally influence all but the most highly EMF-sensitive individuals.

When our initial sweep was complete, we met up with the rest of the team in the back corridor (near the upstairs men's room), we took a short break. Afterwards, Gennifer and I went to swap out tapes in my Hi8, where we took more photos and discussed our findings to date. After returning to the back corrider to retrieve some additional equipment, both Gennifer and myself experienced the sensation of being touched. We again tried to take additional EMF readings in this area, and did not note any EMF levels above normal. We took several still photos, and after no further experiences moved back into the main theatre.

As the morning grew on, however, more employees began to arrive and started their opening duties, the team retired the back corrider and decided to wait there while our tapes ran out, after which we would pack in our gear and end the investigation.

Shortly afterwards, Tim, Tammi, and Sr. Mary left the area. I was sitting in the far chair, with [investigator] sitting in the middle chair across the table from me, and Gennifer standing in the entryway to the balcony I heard footsteps coming up the backstairs. In an attempt to aquire a voice sample from what I assumed to be an employee, I called out "Hello? Anyone down there?" to which I received no reply. The sound stopped as soon as I spoke, so I decided to go down the stairs, and upon rounding the corner I found no one to be present. I examined the area thouroghly and found nothing that could have produced that sound. It was the distinct noise of shuffling feet on concrete steps, and aside from the stairs I had gone down, there were no other steps nearby.

I took several pictures of the area, none of which were anomolous.

At approx 10am, the last tape ran out, and we packed up our gear and the investigation formally ended.
