When planning a trip to Portland in mid-2007, the Bagdad Theatre was at the top of my list of places I wanted to investigate. I have always loved old movie theatres, especially haunted ones. So, when I first read about the Bagdad it jumped right out at me.

At first, it looked like we would have to settle for a very nice lunch in lieu of an investigation, but in striking up a conversation with our waiter, one thing led to another and we wound up talking to the manager. Before you know it, we had an appointment to come back the next day at 4am.

It just goes to show, you should never be afraid to tell someone you're a ghost hunter.

The Bagdad is located at 3702 S.E. Hawthorne Blvd. If you're ever in Portland, DO stop in. The staff is awesome, the food is incredible, and the building itself is a treasure.

This one isn't too spectacular. This was recorded in the upstairs men's room, which is one of the more active locations in the theatre. It sounds like a man sighing. Though from it's location in the raw audio, no one was in the room.

This is great capture. This recorder was located in the main theatre, on the stage. Listen towards the beginning of the clip. The distant voices at the end of the clip belong to Tim and I, as we were investigating in the balcony area. The anomalous voice, however, is earlier and obviously MUCH closer to the recorder than we were.

We didn't capture any anomalous photos at the Bagdad, but here are some random photos from the investigation.

A nice shot of the interior. Btw, that's just dust.

This is the bottom of the staircase on which I had the personal experience mentioned in the report. As you can see, there's no way someone could have come in or gone out of there without either being seen, or opening the exit door which we certainly would have noticed. This doesn't make what I heard paranormal, but it's certainly interesting.

The top flight of the same stairs.

Another shot of the exterior.

Gen in the men's room: "Back off man, I'm a scientist".
